How do you use paint Stripper on a deck?
I'm trying to strip the paint off the deck. I bought some stripper chemicals. The guy at Home Depot told my dad to use a roller to spread it over the wood, then scrape or power wash it off after 45 minutes. But the bottle says to apply the stripper, do not let it dry, and spray it was mist every few minutes to keep it wet, while removing the paint. It also says to re apply stripper if drying occurs. I'm using a wire brush to remove it, but it barely works either way. Which way is best?
There may be different techniques to use to remove paint depending on the strength of the product. If you are not having any luck with the wire brush, have you considered using a flat scrapers? This should help in removing more the paint at a time and has been the type of tool I've used in the past when I revisit old furniture.
Also, depending on how much paint you removing; how many coats of paint are you trying to remove, you may have to resort to power tools for proper and full removal. A disc sander just may do the trick. Check them out here, http://www.tools-plus.com/power-tools-electric-paint-removal-tools.html .
